Open Data

NRDZ
RF Datasets

Labeled RF spectrum datasets collected from RDZ field experiments. Public datasets will be released as the program progresses through its Capstone experiment phases.

Coming in PY3 (2026–2027)

RF Spectrum Datasets — In Preparation

The SPARKIE EEL team is actively working on preparing labeled, open RF spectrum datasets from the November 2025 HCRO exercise and future Capstone A experiment. These datasets will include annotated spectrograms, multi-sensor collections, and event-based labels suitable for spectrum AI/ML algorithm development.

900 MHz ISM Spectrograms

Time-frequency spectrogram data captured at HCRO during SSM waveform injection and baseline conditions.

Labeled Event Annotations

Bounding-box and category labels for detected spectrum events, validated against ground-truth SSM transmission logs.

Multi-Sensor Collections

Correlated time-synchronized data from multiple RFS sensor nodes distributed across the HCRO site.

Open Access Format

Datasets will be published in open, well-documented formats with accompanying metadata and collection methodology documentation.

Post-Exercise
HCRO Exercise Dataset — Internal Analysis
Spectrograms and multi-sensor data from the November 2025 field exercise currently under internal analysis. Correlation detector and bounding-box algorithm validation using this data is in progress. Will inform the open dataset preparation.

Capstone A Intermediate Dataset
Annotated spectrum data collected during the first months of the Capstone A deployment at HCRO. Will include multi-sensor, event-based collections with ground-truth labels from ZMS experiment logs.

Planned

PY3–4

Capstone A Full Dataset Release
Complete open release of Capstone A data: 3-month continuous monitoring, all sensor nodes, event annotations, and accompanying documentation. Dataset will support community AI/ML algorithm development and benchmarking.

Planned

RF DATASET WORKING GROUP

Contributing to the Broader RF Research Community

MITRE’s RF Dataset Working Group is developing best practices for RF dataset collection, annotation, and sharing across the spectrum research community. NRDZ datasets will conform to these standards and be released in coordination with the working group. See the Resources page for the working group paper.
